Loreto - La Paz Voyage 2025

In the spring of 2025, we paddled for a sixth time, 150 nautical miles in the Gulf of California. We paddled a Seaward Passat G3 from Loreto to La Paz in Baja California Sur via the Isla San Francisco, Isla Partida, and Isla Espiritu Santo.

We explored the majestic coastline of the Mar de Cortez, south of Aqua Verde. We got challenged with a day paddling 30 nautical miles in 12 hours, challenging crossings due to heat stroke, and fast changing conditions in the Gulf of California.

We chose to shorten some of the planned stops along the way and paddling for hours without stops. Aside from a 30 nautical mile day, we had two 18nm days in a row with minimal rest. This was our unplanned misogi, a fun challenge to test our spirits and resolve. We had two zero days due to the El Norte winds to restore our reserves.
